SUMMARYThe Macintosh Portable may switch into a power-saving mode when you run a macro in Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh. The processor speed reduces from 16 megahertz to 1 megahertz, and the speed of macro execution slows accordingly. This problem is not caused by Microsoft Excel. The Macintosh Portable is designed such that the power-saving mode, called "system sleep", is automatically invoked after a period of inactivity.
