Excel: Cell Note Reference Gets Corrupted After SortLast reviewed: November 30, 1994Article ID: Q80227 |
Summary:
In Microsoft Excel, if a cell with an attached cell note and a thick border style is relocated during a sort, all cell note references in the sorted area become corrupted. The damaged reference has the correct column but a row number above 49,000.
WorkaroundWhen sorting cells with attached notes and thick borders, format the cells for no borders or a different border style. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Excel for the Macintosh version 3.0 and Excel for Windows version 3.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available. More Information:
