The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

A macro error will result for an ADD.TOOL command if the ID numbers for the custom tools are not in the range of 200-231.

Page 12 of the "Microsoft Excel Function Reference" incorrectly states:

To specify a custom tool, use a name, or a number greater than
   140.

It should read:

To specify a custom tool, use a name, or a number between 200 and
   231.

MORE INFORMATION

The numbers 140-199 are not defined. The numbers 200-231 are defined as custom toolfaces found in the Custom section of the Toolbar Customize dialog box. These faces can be used or can be overridden by referring to a graphic in the "face" argument for ADD.TOOL.
