QE.XLA Replaces QESTART.XLA in Excel 4.0Last reviewed: November 8, 1994Article ID: Q84226 |
SUMMARYPage 57 of the Q+E Excel User's Guide erroneously states that the Excel Setup copies the QESTART.XLA into the QEMACRO subdirectory. The documentation further advises to copy this file into the XLStart Subdirectory to automatically load Q+E upon execution of Excel. However, there is no file called QESTART.XLA included with Excel 4.0, neither is there a QEMACRO Subdirectory. Excel 4.0 Setup actually installs a file called QE.XLA into the QE subdirectory. To automatically load QE upon starting Excel, use the Excel Add-In Manager and add the "QE /Integration Macro"(QE.XLA).
MORE INFORMATIONQESTART.XLA was available in Excel 3.0 and Excel 3.0a, but has been discontinued in Excel 4.0. The Excel 4.0 Setup installs QE.XLA in the QE subdirectory, but it does not cause QE to load automatically. You must use the add-in manager to achieve the same functionality that was provided in previous versions.
