SUMMARYText in shaded cells will print with a white block background (opaque) on the second and subsequent pages of a worksheet when printing from Microsoft Excel 3.0 to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet III printer with Microsoft Windows operating environment version 3.1. This does not happen with Excel version 4.0. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in HP LaserJet III printer driver version 31.3.89. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
WorkaroundTo get shaded cells to print correctly, you can either upgrade to version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for Windows or print each page separately. To print each page separately, follow these steps for each page of your worksheet:
