PMPLOT.QPR Queue Driver Necessary to Plot in Excel for OS/2Last reviewed: November 4, 1994Article ID: Q85986 |
SUMMARYTo use a plotter with Excel for OS/2, it is necessary to have the PMPLOT queue driver installed. Without this driver, the results of plotting Excel charts and worksheets will be unpredictable. The driver may be installed from the Presentation Manager Device Driver Disks with the OS/2 Control Panel. Then the option PMPLOT will be available as a Queue driver in the Print Manager for OS/2 version 1.31 or the Queue Options for the settings in the print driver in OS/2 version 2.0. For this driver to function correctly, the OS/2 system level must be at least 1.31 (CSD 5015) or greater. This includes OS/2 2.0 and higher.
MORE INFORMATIONA presentation manager application is supposed to send information to the OS/2 printer device driver, then the printer device driver sends the information to the queue driver. The queue driver will then arrange to send the data in packets to the output device. Special devices, including plotters have specific queue drivers. The communication is arranged so that the device will not get a data overflow if it is not prepared to receive more data. Using an incorrect queue driver can result in data overflow, which will lead random and unpredictable results.
