Excel: GP Fault Using GET.OBJECT() with Workbooks

SYMPTOMS

Using GET.OBJECT(10) causes a general protection (GP) fault in version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for Windows if the selected object is a button assigned to a macro that resides in another closed workbook.

GET.OBJECT(10) returns the name of the object, including the filename of the macro assigned to it.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in version 4.0 of Excel for Windows. This problem was corrected in version 4.0a of Microsoft Excel for Windows.
