The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

In version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel, you cannot directly activate the table of contents of an open workbook by using the keyboard. This functionality is only accessible when you are using a mouse.

WORKAROUND

Assigning a macro containing the function WORKBOOK.ACTIVATE to a hot key enables you to activate the table of contents of an open workbook using the keyboard. This macro may be written or recorded, using the Macro Recorder.

The ALT+PAGEUP and ALT+PAGEDOWN key combinations can be used to move forward and backward through the documents of a workbook. You can page through the documents until you reach the Table of Contents, but there is no key combination to activate the Table of Contents directly.
