The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh version 4.0

Summary:

When using a workbook in version 4.0 of Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, clicking the down scroll arrow of an inactive scroll bar in the Workbook Contents screen may activate the Options or Remove button instead.

More Information:

This only occurs if the following two conditions are met:

  • The scroll bar on the right hand side of the Workbook Contents screen must be inactive.

    -and-

  • The Workbook Contents screen must be resized so that the inactive scroll bar covers the Options or Remove button.

If these conditions are met, clicking any part of the scroll bar which lies directly on top of the Options or Remove button will activate that button.
