Excel: Lotus Pie Chart Not Displayed in Black and WhiteLast reviewed: September 12, 1996Article ID: Q94634 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYIn version 4.0 and 4.0a of Microsoft Excel for Windows, if you open a black and white pie chart that was created in Lotus 1-2-3 by a view-generating macro, the pie chart will be displayed in color.
WorkaroundTo open a Lotus 1-2-3 black and white pie chart in Microsoft Excel so that the pie chart appears in black and white, use the Graph Save command instead of the Graph View command.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed above. We are researching this problem, and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen a view of a graph is created in Lotus 1-2-3, a temporary screen image of the current graph settings is generated; however, Lotus 1-2-3 does not save this image. When you use the Microsoft Excel Macro Interpreter to open the file containing the Graph View command, the graph is displayed in color instead of in black and white. You cannot edit this image in Microsoft Excel. If the macro includes a Graph Save command, a PIC file is created in Lotus 1-2-3. In Microsoft Excel, when you open this file along with the associated PIC file, Microsoft Excel creates a chart called CURRENT.XLC. This chart can be edited in Microsoft Excel.
