Paste Special Operations Won't Work with Nonadjacent Data

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel versions 4.0 and 4.0a for Windows, when you copy nonadjacent data and use the Paste Special command, if any of the Operation options in the Paste Special dialog box are used (Add, Subtract, Divide, or Multiply) the destination cells and the cells surrounding the destination may be overwritten with incorrect values.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed above. This problem does not occur in later versions of Microsoft Excel.
