XL4: Manual Pages Breaks Are Not Always Displayed

Last reviewed: February 2, 1998
Article ID: Q96934

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 4.0, 4.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 4.0

SYMPTOMS

The last paragraph on page 532 in the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide 1," version 4.0, states that "Manual page breaks always appear." This statement is incorrect.

This same documentation error occurs on page 533 of the the version 4.0 "Microsoft Excel User's Guide."

MORE INFORMATION

If you click Page Setup on the File menu, and select the Fit To option in the Scaling section of the dialog box, manual page breaks will not appear.

If the Fit To option is available with your printer driver, a print area that would normally be too large to fit on a single page is scaled down to fit on a single page. If manual page breaks exist within the print area, they are ignored. Therefore, the manual page breaks will not be displayed.
