SUMMARYWhen you print a Microsoft Excel document to a Hewlett Packard (HP) LaserJet 4 printer, cells that contain patterns may not print correctly if the internal resolution setting on the printer is set to 300 dots per inch (dpi). Cells formatted with certain options in the Patterns dialog box will appear correctly on the screen and in print preview, but the patterns will be omitted from the printed page. This problem will occur with the HP LaserJet 4/4M PostScript driver if the resolution setting for the driver is 600 dpi and the internal resolution setting on the printer is set to 300.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, change the resolution setting on the printer from 300 dpi to 600 dpi:
