SYMPTOMSIf you are using the LINEST() function in Microsoft Excel version 3.0, you receive the #NUM! error value for r^2 (coefficient of determination).
CAUSEThis problem occurs if all of the values for the known_y's argument are the same.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel version 3.0. This problem was was corrected in Microsoft Excel version 4.0.
MORE INFORMATIONIn Microsoft Excel version 4.0, 1 is returned for r^2.
