XADM: Rule to Forward to Foreign Address Causes a Loop

SYMPTOMS

If you have the Internet Mail Connector (IMC) administrator account forward all mail to an SMTP address, the notifications may cause loops and eventually fill the store.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 4.0. This problem was corrected in the latest Microsoft Exchange Server U.S. Service Pack.
