XFOR: How Exchange Encryption Is Disabled on French Servers

The information in this article applies to:

- Microsoft Exchange Server, version 4.0

France does not allow the import of any type of data encryption. Therefore, it is not possible to install Advanced Security on the French version of Microsoft Exchange Server.

To prevent the use of encryption in France, the installation of the KM server is disabled on the French version of Windows NT Server. Additionally, the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program does not display the security property page on a mailbox.
