XADM: Export Populates Addresses Column RandomlyLast reviewed: December 6, 1997Article ID: Q164628 |
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARYWhen you perform a directory export in the Microsoft Exchange Server Administrator program, the resulting export file (with the extension .csv) may have its E-mail Addresses column populated randomly with the various e-mail address types for each mailbox, instead of having them all in the same order for each mailbox.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen an export is performed on Exchange Server, the E-mail Addresses column of the export file should, by default, be populated with the default Exchange Server e-mail addresses in the following order:
MS:<MS-Mail address> SMTP:<SMTP address> X400:<x.400 address> CCMAIL:<cc:Mail address> (only in Exchange 5.0)However, if you manually change one of these e-mail addresses for a particular mailbox on that server using the Administrator program, and then perform the directory export, that mailbox may have the e-mail address types populated in the E-mail Addesses column in a different order. For example, it may have the order: CCMAIL, then MS, then SMTP, and then X.400.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server versions 4.0 and 5.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
