XWEB: Active Server Components Failed to Install Properly

SUMMARY

When installing the Active Server Components (ASC), the administrator may encounter the following error message towards the end of the installation:

   The Active Server Components failed to install properly

This error message may be followed by one of the following messages:

   The Microsoft Exchange System Attendant service is not unavailable.
   Microsoft Exchange Server Setup.  ID no:c1031668.

   The Microsoft Exchange Server computer does not respond.  Microsoft
   Exchange Directory ID no: DS_E_COMMUNICATIONS_PROBLEM.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem:

  • Make sure that the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant and the Microsoft Exchange Directory service are running when you install the Active Server Components.
