The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen you install the Microsoft Exchange Windows 3.x client in quiet mode with the command
setup /q1and create a default profile called Default.prf, some properties such as HomeServer and MailboxName are not put into the profile correctly; they are just ignored quietly.
WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, do one of the following:
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Windows 3.x client, version 4.0, Microsoft Exchange Windows NT client versions 4.0 and 5.0, and Microsoft Exchange Windows 95 client, versions 4.0 and 5.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Windows 3.x client, version 5.0. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0. For information on obtaining the Service Pack, query on the following word in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (without the spaces):
