SUMMARYRunning Microsoft Exchange version 4.0 or 5.0 or Microsoft Outlook for Macintosh version 8.0 clients on Apple Macintosh OS 8.0 has not been tested and may not run as expected. Changes made in the operating system are not fully supported by these clients. Support for Macintosh OS 8.0 is being considered for future releases of Microsoft Outlook.

These problems occur due to a change made in Macintosh OS 8.0, not Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft is working closely with Apple to resolve these issues and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. Note: Microsoft Exchange version 5.0 Service Pack 2 and Apple Macintosh OS 8.1 have addressed some of these issues and should be considered if you are experiencing any of these problems.
