XADM: Address Book View Scroll Bar Problem After Mail Migration

Last reviewed: January 27, 1998
Article ID: Q179304
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.0

SYMPTOMS

When Microsoft Mail users migrate to Microsoft Exchange Server using the MS Mail Migration Wizard, the address book views may not function properly when viewed from Exchange or Outlook clients or from the Exchange Administrator program.

When you view an address book in the client, the scroll bar may be grayed out. However, the arrows still allow scrolling. Resizing the window may make the scroll bar function properly.

From the Administrator program, the scroll bar may also be grayed out.

WORKAROUND

The address book view scroll bars may not function properly in the clients or Exchange Administrator program until you resize the window. Resizing the window may allow the address book view scroll bar to function properly.

Creating a new Address Book View may also resolve this problem until the next MS Mail migration.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0. We are researching this problem and will post more information in when available.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem only occurs when you use the MS Mail Migration Wizard found in the Exchange Administrator program. If you import from within the Administrator Program using a .csv file, this problem does not occur.
