The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSPlaying an .AVI file that is stored in a general field of a database or executing an APPEND GENERAL command from an .AVI file will cause the computer to hang when you are quitting Windows. This behavior occurs with Windows for Workgroups versions 3.1 and 3.11.
RESOLUTIONIf you package the .AVI file as an object and you use the Paste Special command to paste the packaged object into a general field, Windows does not hang when you try to quit.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro versions 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, and 2.6 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
