The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, 2.6

SYMPTOMS

Changes made in the Print Setup dialog box are not saved with a report created in the Report Writer. However, all other options are saved with the report.

For example, if you choose Page Layout from the Report menu, then choose Print Setup and change the Paper Source setting to something other than the default and then save the report, the next time the report is opened the paper source will revert back to the default setting.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual FoxPro 3.0 for Windows.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem:

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.
2. Double-click the Printers icon. 3. Select the printer driver you want. 4. Choose the Setup button. 5. Change the paper source, choose OK, and then choose Close. 6. In FoxPro, save the report again with the correct paper source.

NOTE: The tray selection for the report definition will remain the same only as long as you don't modify the settings in the Control Panel Printer Setup dialog box.

MORE INFORMATION

NOTE: Changes made in the Options dialog box, which is displayed by choosing the Options button in the Print Setup dialog box, are not saved with the report either.
