  • Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh, version 2.5b

SYMPTOMS

Choosing Do Query to run a quick report as instructed on page 42, 59, or 78 of the "Getting Started" manual causes the following error message:

   Invalid path or filename

CAUSE

The quick report was not saved properly. The instructions on pages 42, 58, and 77 of the "Getting Started" manual should include a colon (:) before the TUTORIAL subfolder name in the Save As box of the RQBE Quick Report dialog box.

RESOLUTION

Type a colon (:) at the beginning of the name in the Save As text box.

MORE INFORMATION

Sample Correction to the Instructions

The following is the incorrect filename currently shown on page 42 in the Save As text box:

   tutorial:gschap5.frx

The following is the correct filename (using the initial colon) that should be used in the Save As text box:

   :tutorial:gschap5.frx

NOTE: These lessons in the "Getting Started" manual assume that the default directory (folder) is set to the main FoxPro folder.
