PRB: Hot Keys Don't Work When Selection Cursor Is in File ListLast reviewed: April 18, 1995Article ID: Q114121 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSWhen the selection cursor is in the file list (that is, the file list has the focus), the hot keys do not work.
WORKAROUNDPress TAB to move the selection cursor out of the file list.
STATUSMicrosoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATIONThe hot keys (also known as access keys) are normally activated by pressing the key that matches the highlighted letter in a button. For example, the Add button is activated by pressing the A key. When the focus is in the file list, however, pressing a key moves the selection cursor to a file whose first letter matches the key pressed, not to the matching hot key object. NOTE: Although this behavior can be reproduced in FoxPro for Windows, this is not a problem because hot keys are chosen in a Windows product by pressing the ALT+<key> key combination. Therefore, even if the selection cursor is in the file list, pressing ALT+A chooses the Add button.
