BUG: CatMan Restarts When All Fields Removed from Index Keys

SYMPTOMS

If you open a catalog, select a table, modify the indexes from the data menu and remove all the indexes, the following error message is displayed:

   Error 31 (Invalid subscript reference) occurred in _QO00SZJM2. Catalog
   Manager will restart.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.6 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. USE SAMPLE.FPC in the SAMPLE\CATALOG subdirectory.

  2. USE the INVOICES table.

  3. From the Data menu, choose Add/Modify Indexes.

  4. Choose Modify.

  5. Choose Remove four times to remove all the fields in the Index Keys list box.

The error message mentioned above will now appear.
