SUMMARYThe FoxPro Library Construction Kit (LCK) provides an application programming interface (API) to extend the FoxPro Xbase language. Using libraries of C or assembly language functions, a programmer or end user can create code to provide additional flexibility and functionality to FoxPro. Note that beginning with version 2.5, the LCK no longer includes a C compiler.
MORE INFORMATIONMany developers already own one or more C compilers. By unbundling the LCK from a specific compiler, the cost of the product is lowered and the developer is provided with flexibility in choosing a specific compiler. The LCK supports the following compilers:
- Microsoft C/C++ version 7.0 or later - Microsoft Visual C++ version 1.0 or later - WATCOM C 16-bit compiler, version 8.5 or laterThe WATCOM C compiler is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
REFERENCESPage xii of the "Developer's Guide" for the LCK does not include Microsoft Visual C++ in the list of available compilers. In addition, this paragraph does not fully specify the 16-bit compiler for WATCOM C. The 16-bit libraries must be used to produce a library capable of running in 16-bit mode.
