  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.0, 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh, version 2.5b

VARREAD() and SYS(18) return the current field's name to a procedure. In a GET field, the name is returned in uppercase.

However, these functions return the field's name in the proper case (initial caps) from a Browse window.

NOTE: Under Visual FoxPro for Windows 3.0 and 3.0b, VARREAD() returns the field's name in uppercase characters from a Browser window.
