PRB: SET DEBUG Behaves Differently in dBASE and FoxPro

Last reviewed: June 26, 1995
Article ID: Q115483
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, 2.6
  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.0, 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, 2.6
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Macintosh, versions 2.5b, 2.5c

SYMPTOMS

In dBASE, the SET DEBUG command determines whether output from the SET ECHO command is directed to the printer. In FoxPro, it determines whether the Trace and Debug commands are available on the Program menu in FoxPro for Windows and Macintosh or on the Window menu in FoxPro for MS-DOS.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, the value of SET DEBUG is OFF in FoxPro.

NOTE: The SET COMPATIBLE command has no effect on the behavior of SET DEBUG.
