  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b, 2.6

SUMMARY

When you are using the Windows Setup program in Program Manager to search for .EXE files to make icons for, Windows will give an .EXE file made with the FoxPro for Windows Distribution Kit the name "\DOSDEV\FOXW.EXE". This icon name will appear regardless of what directory the .EXE file is in and what name the .EXE file has.

You can change the icon's name by selecting the icon, choosing Properties from Program Manager File menu, and typing the new name in the Description box.

NOTE: The Windows Setup program can't make an icon for an .EXE file made with FoxPro for MS-DOS.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps To Reproduce Problem

  1. Double-click the Windows Setup icon in the Main group of Program Manager and then choose Options.

  2. Choose Set Up Applications.

  3. Select Search For Applications or Ask You To Specify An Application. The first option searches the drive looking for .EXE files that can be made into icons. The second option allows you to set up an icon just for a specific .EXE file. Select the second option, and then choose OK.

  4. Type the path and filename in the Application Path And Filename box. If you like, select a group window in which you want the icon to be placed.

The icon, named "\DOSDEV\FOXW.EXE", will be placed in the group that you selected.
