FIX: General Protection Fault with SET MESSAGE TO Command

SYMPTOMS

When the MS-DOS-style status bar is on and a SET MESSAGE TO command is issued, a general protection (GP) fault occurs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for Windows.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. In the Command window, type "SET STATUS ON" (without the quotation marks), and then press the ENTER key.

  2. In the Command window, type

          SET MESSAGE TO "This is a test"
    

    and then press ENTER.

A GP fault will occur and FoxPro will be closed.
