The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, versions 2.5x, 2.6

SUMMARY

Microsoft directly supports FoxPro for MS-DOS running under MS-DOS versions 3.1 and later. We make no guarantee, however, that FoxPro for MS-DOS will run under an operating system other than MS-DOS, such as OS/2.

When you are building an executable with FoxPro for MS-DOS under OS/2 version 2.1, FoxPro may produce the following error message:

FOXBIND ERROR.. Cannot build .EXE file '*.TMP' file exists, further
   operations will overwrite the file

MORE INFORMATION

To continue building the executable, check the following items:

  • Make sure all the FOX*.* system files (FOXPRO.EXE, FOXPROX.EXE, FOXPRO.ESL, and so on) are marked Read-Only.
  • If the problem persists, see if FoxPro is in Standard (16-bit) or Extended (32-bit) mode. If FoxPro is running in 32-bit mode, try building the executable in 16-bit mode.

If you are still unsuccessful, contact IBM's OS/2 support.

For additional information about configuring FoxPro for MS-DOS to run under OS/2, please see the following article:
