SYMPTOMS

The error message "No records for current platform" occurs when you are running a report in FoxPro for MS-DOS that was created in FoxPro for Windows.

CAUSE

FoxPro for MS-DOS cannot automatically run or generate a report that was created in the Windows graphical environment. To run a report that was created in FoxPro for Windows under MS-DOS, you must first transport the report to the MS-DOS platform.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Start FoxPro for Windows. In the Command window, type the following:

          USE c:\<FoxPro_directory>\tutorial\customer
          CREATE REPORT

  2. When the UNTITLED.FRX report appears, choose Quick Report from the Report menu, and then choose OK to accept the defaults.

  3. Save the report, naming it TEST.FRX, and then quit FoxPro for Windows.

  4. Start FoxPro for MS-DOS, and in the Command window, type the following:

         REPORT FORM test PREVIEW

You will get an error message saying "No records for current platform."

To run the report, you must first transport it by typing following in the Command window:

   MODIFY REPORT TEST

FoxPro will invoke the Transporter and transport the report from FoxPro Windows to FoxPro for MS-DOS. After the Transporter has transported the file, you will be able to save the report and run it from MS-DOS.
