The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, version 2.6

SYMPTOMS

The cursor name from a query created by using the SQL Query Wizard in the Catalog Manager is truncated to four characters.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.60 for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro version 2.6a for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Create a simple query in the Catalog Manager. Use the customer database, and select all the fields. Do not use groupings or calculations. Select the first three fields to ORDER BY.

  2. Save the query as Test and save it into a file called TEST.

  3. In the Catalog manager, select the query tab.

  4. Choose the query called Test. Then choose the Modify button.

  5. Choose the Query tool button. Do not choose the button for the Query Wizard.

  6. Look at the name of the cursor; it is Quer.

This was corrected in FoxPro version 2.6a; there the cursor name is Test.
