BUG: Unneeded Vertical Scroll Bar Displayed in BROWSE Window

SYMPTOMS

An unneeded vertical scroll bar appears in a BROWSE window that is large enough to display all records (rows) for the BROWSE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

Type the following in the Command window:

   USE SYS(2004) + "\tutorial\customer.dbf"
   BROWSE FOR state = "WA" FIELDS cno, company

A vertical scroll bar appears on the right side of the BROWSE window even though there are only seven records displayed, which typically occupy less than half of the available BROWSE window.
