The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSImporting or appending from an Excel file results in "File Does Not Exist" or "Could Not Find File" errors if the Excel file does not have an .XLS extension.
RESOLUTIONAdd an .XLS extension to the Excel file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual FoxPro 3.0b for Macintosh.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen doing an IMPORT FROM or APPEND FROM TYPE XLS, FoxPro for Macintosh looks for the file to have a .XLS extension.
APPEND FROM <filename> TYPE XLS -or- IMPORT FROM <filename> TYPE XLSGiving the file a proper extension allows FoxPro to find the file.
