PRB: "File is in use" Message Received When Running Query

SYMPTOMS

When creating a query in RQBE that outputs to a report, you receive the message "file is in use."

CAUSE

The output is being sent to a Quick Report that has the same filename as the open report or label.

RESOLUTION

Perform one of the following:

  • Close the report or label file, and then run the query again.

    -or-

  • Use a different name for the report or label.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
