BUG: .SPR File Gets Timestamp from Server's ClockLast reviewed: May 17, 1996Article ID: Q136054 |
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSChanges made to a screen that resides on a server do not always appear if a new .spr file is generated from the workstation without first deleting the .spx file. NOTE: The workstation is mounted on to the server through System 7's peer- to-peer network. All the screen files (.scx, .spr, .spx, and so on) reside on the server.
CAUSEThe .spr file gets the timestamp from the server's clock, and the .spx file gets the timestamp from the workstation's clock. The problem occurs when the workstation's system clock is approximately 8 minutes faster than the server's system clock.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
