SYMPTOMS

In Windows 95, when 16-bit applications have been loaded until free physical memory is under 1 MB (the exact amount has not been determined), starting FoxPro may cause the machine to hang.

WORKAROUND

There are two possible workarounds:

  • Start FoxPro earlier in the load sequence so that adequate memory is available. This amount may differ by system.

    -or-

  • Upgrade to Visual FoxPro 3.0 for Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Visual FoxPro 3.0 and 3.0b for Windows.
