BUG: Macintosh Help Key Does Not Invoke FoxPro Help

SYMPTOMS

While using Visual FoxPro, the key labeled "Help" on Apple extended keyboards will toggle the text-editing mode from insert to overtype but will not invoke any Help-related function. The HELP key is positioned in the 6-key block of navigation keys, directly above the FORWARD DELETE or DEL key, to the left of the HOME key.

WORKAROUND

  1. Use the keystroke COMMAND + ?, or press the F1 key to invoke Help.

    - or -

  2. From the Help menu, choose Visual FoxPro Help.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
