SUMMARY

The text below provides a code example to determine the number of bytes of free space currently available on an alternate drive.

MORE INFORMATION

The DISKSPACE() function returns the number of bytes of free space currently available on only the default drive. To determine the amount of free disk space on another drive, use code such as the following. This example obtains the amount of free space available on drive B.

   cdefault = FULLPATH("") && Store the current default
                               &&    drive and directory.
   SET DEFAULT TO b: && Change the default drive.
   freedisk = DISKSPACE() && Retrieve free disk space on
                               &&    alternate drive.
   SET DEFAULT TO (cdefault) && Restore original default, if necessary.
