FIX: Changing Views Leaves "Orphan" Status Bar on Screen

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, version 2.0
  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5 and 2.5a

SYMPTOMS

When the status bar is displayed and the user issues a SET VIEW TO command to change to a view that does not display the status bar, FoxPro turns off the status bar but does not remove the old status bar from the display.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, issue SET STATUS OFF prior to changing the view.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.0 for MS-DOS and in FoxPro 2.5 and 2.5a for Windows. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5 for MS-DOS. We are researching this problem in FoxPro 2.5 and 2.5a for Windows and we will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
