ASCAN() Help File Documentation Error

Last reviewed: April 17, 1995
Article ID: Q88133
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, version 2.0

FoxPro 2.0's online Help incorrectly documents the ASCAN() function.

Help incorrectly reads as follows:

   If EXACT is SET OFF and an element and search expression match up
   to the point where one or the other is exhausted, the match is
   considered successful.

This statement should be changed to read as follows:

   If EXACT is SET OFF and an element and search expression match up
   to the point where <expr> is exhausted, the match is considered
   successful.

This documentation error was corrected in the May edition of the "Commands & Functions" manual and in the November 15, 1991, version of Help.
