FIX: Printing Last Line of Memo Field Lost When _WRAP Is .T.

SYMPTOMS

When the ? command is used in conjunction with SET PRINTER TO FILE or SET PRINTER ON to print the contents of a memo field, the last line of the memo field is lost in the printed output.

CAUSE

When _WRAP is set to .T., FoxPro for MS-DOS does not flush output until a SET PRINT TO command is issued.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use one of the following two methods:

  • Issue SET _WRAP = .F. (the default setting).

    -or-

  • Issue a SET PRINT TO command immediately after the ? command that prints the memo field.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft FoxPro version 2.0 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in Microsoft FoxPro version 2.5 for MS-DOS.
