The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS, version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Extended (32-bit) version of FoxPro (FOXPROX.EXE) on an IBM PS/2 Model 56 SLC or IBM PS/2 Model 57 SLC computer, FoxPro will hang.

CAUSE

The ERGO extender FoxPro uses conflicts with the way the IBM PS/2 Model 56 SLC and Model 57 SLC processors are configured.

RESOLUTION

The following suggestions have helped some users to get the Extended version of FoxPro running on these machines:

  • Replace the bus mouse with a serial mouse.
  • Add an expanded memory manager (EMM) driver (for example, EMM386).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro version 2.0. This problem was corrected in FoxPro version 2.5.
