PRB: Could Not Write to File Named "SETUP.INI"

SYMPTOMS

The error message "Could not write to file named SETUP.INI" occurs when you install FoxPro for Windows. When you choose the Cancel button, another error message appears stating "The SETUP.INI file is missing or damaged."

CAUSE

FoxPro for Windows writes to the first floppy disk during installation. If the first disk is write protected, the above error will occur during installation.

RESOLUTION

To correct the problem, remove write protection from the first disk and run the Setup program again.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
