SYMPTOMS

The error message "Invalid File Descriptor" is displayed when you browse a database that contains a numeric field that was defined as being at least three positions in length.

Using the HOME or LEFT ARROW key to move to the numeric field in a Browse window causes this message to appear.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, use the ON KEY LABEL LEFTARROW command to move the cursor to a numeric field in a Browse window. For example:

ON KEY LABEL LEFTARROW KEYBOARD '{BACKTAB}'

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for MS-DOS.
