SUMMARY

This article describes how to create a link to a text document.

MORE INFORMATION

To create a link to a text document, use the following steps:

  1. Open the Web page in FrontPage Editor for which you want to add the text document link.

  2. Select the text that you want to use as the link to the text document.

  3. On the Edit menu, click Link.

  4. In the Edit Link dialog box, click the World Wide Web tab.

  5. In the URL box, type the location of the text file in the following format

          http://<HostName or IP Address>/<WebName>/<FileName>.txt

where <HostName or IP Address> is the name of your server host and <WebName> is the name of the Web where the file is located. For example, if the Test.txt file is located in C:\Content\WebName where WebName represents the Web you have created in FrontPage Explorer, the appropriate URL to access that text file is the following:

          http://WebName/Test.txt
