Last reviewed: March 17, 1998
Article ID: Q160837
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FrontPage for Windows, version 1.1

SYMPTOMS

If you import a document generated in a program other than FrontPage that uses named colors, FrontPage Editor will attempt to convert the named color to its hexadecimal equivalent. When this conversion occurs, the imported color may not be what you expected.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft FrontPage 97 for Windows with Bonus Pack.

MORE INFORMATION

For example, the color attribute in this tag

   <body bgcolor="White">

may be converted to this

   <body bgcolor="#001F76">

This is not the correct hexadecimal equivalent for white.
