FP1: Type 11 Error Creating Disk-Based Web w/ Long File Name

SYMPTOMS

When you create a web whose name is longer that 71 characters, you receive the following error message:

   Sorry a system error occurred.
   "FrontPage Explorer"
   Error Type 11.

Your only option at this point is to restart your computer. Note that you will lose any unsaved information.

CAUSE

The Macintosh System Software limits the length of the folder name to 31 characters.

RESOLUTION

To avoid this problem, do not create a web whose name is longer than 31 characters.
